You need a receipt or invoice

For expenses or taxes, request an electronic receipt from the transaction inside each app.

The button is inside the transaction, not the home screen.

What you'll see

If you need proof of a payment for work or tax, the app can issue it per transaction:

Why it happens

Both apps can produce an electronic receipt, but the button is buried inside the transaction detail, not on the home screen.

Fastest fix, free: WeChat: Me → Services → Wallet → Transactions → tap the transaction → Request Receipt. Alipay: Me → Bills → tap the transaction → Apply for Receipt.

If nothing works

If the in-app receipt is not enough:

  1. Ask the merchant for a fapiao (发票) directly — many can issue one.
  2. Use the merchant's own mini-program, which often has a clearer receipt button.
  3. Keep the transaction screenshot as interim proof.
